After arriving in Colombia, Gusmeli was separated from her son for a year. Through IOM’s family reunification strategy, she was able to reunite with him. This strategy seeks to promote the rights of Venezuelan children and adolescents, refugees and migrants, unaccompanied and separated from their families. With the help of our implementing partners, we provide temporary accommodation services, which include accompaniment by professionals specialized in protection, nutritional assessment and comprehensive food, legal assistance services and psychosocial guidance, as well as recreational activities, while working on reunification.
